Welcome to Parshas VaYeilech! At only 30 Pesukim, it’s the shortest Parsha in the Torah. But you know what they say, “good things come in small packages.”
In this Parsha we’ll find Moshe Rabbeinu, on the last day of his life, teaching Bnei Yisrael the last two of the 613 Mitzvos. Mitzvah #612 is called Hakhel, a once-in-7-years-grand-SUPER-GATHERING; and last, but certainly not least, Mitzvah #613 is the commandment to write a Sefer Torah.
As we shall soon see, both of these commandments teach us how to recreate the Matan Torah experience again and again, until this very day!
Indeed, after giving Bnei Yisrael just about the entire Torah, Moshe was now sharing these two “extraordinary ingredients” that would keep Matan Torah fresh and alive for generations to come.
What are these “extraordinary ingredients?!
Hold tight and get ready to learn all about it, here in Parshas VaYeilech!
