And then… with a big smile on his face, Eisav ran toward Yaakov.
Hold it! Could this be for real?
Has Eisav made a complete reversal for the better?! Perhaps Eisav saw all the wonderful gifts and was moved by the great honor Yaakov gave him.
Is this genuine brotherly love? Or perhaps this is the same old, cunning Eisav with another trick up his sleeve… about to get his long-awaited revenge and attack by means of a hidden weapon.
He fell on his brother’s neck and gave him a big hug and kiss! The prayers to HaShem and gifts-galore all helped to prevent Eisav from exploding with rage. The brothers both cried at this heartfelt reunion.
It seems that after all those years Eisav felt a burst of sincere love for his twin brother. At least superficially, on the outside, it seemed to be true.
Yaakov proceeded to introduce his entire family as they respectfully bowed down to their uncle that they met for the very first time. Yaakov insisted that Eisav accept the presents, and of course he took them all.
Eisav suggested that he join his brother on the trip back home, but Yaakov convinced him otherwise and the brothers parted their ways.
