INSIGHT: Bentcher Bonanza

Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving Dinner

Moshe continued, “V’achalta – after you eat a meal; V’savata – and you feel full and satisfied; Uveirachta – bless HaShem. Say ‘thank you’ to the One Who has provided you food!”

Indeed, after every meal in which we eat bread, Birkas HaMazon, a.k.a. “Bentching,” is recited, which begins “HaZon Es Ha’Olom…” thanking HaShem for feeding the entire world.

Bentcher Bonanza

Think of the last wedding you attended. At the very end of the Simchah, (if you hadn’t fallen asleep by then) you probably heard somebody announcing that it’s time to “Bentch, to say Birkas HaMazon.

You looked around for a Bentcher and… presto! Right there on the table was a pile of some beautiful Bentchers with the names of the Kallah (bride) and Chassan (groom) on the cover, and you may even find their names hidden in the design. This Bentcher is yours to take home as a gift from the hosts of the Simchah.
