Day #4: Good Heavens

Day #4: Good Heavens

On the fourth day, HaShem created the sun, moon, and stars, and placed them in their positions in outer space. HaShem gave them all special jobs – when the sun rises it’s the beginning of a new morning, and when the sun sets and the moon and stars appear, this is when night begins.

Bnei Yisrael, the Jewish people, also look carefully to see when the new moon appears every month, for this is when we celebrate Rosh Chodesh, the new month, and this is how we know the exact dates our Jewish holidays.

Vayehi erev, vayehi voker, yom r’vi’I – and it was evening, and it was morning – DAY #4.
