Shazak insight

Double Cave

Sarah wasn’t the first to be buried in Me’aras HaMachpeilah and she would not be the last. Buried there were the first people of planet earth, Adam and Chavah. Later, Avraham himself would be buried there. In addition, there are 2 more righteous husband-and-wife pairs: Yitzchak and Rivkah, and Yaakov and Leah. For that reason it is called, Me’aras HaMachpeilah, meaning, “Cave of the Doubles.”

Throughout Jewish history, Me’aras HaMachpeilah has remained one of our holiest sites, where Bnei Yisrael from all over the world come to pray. After all, this is the place of our great ancestors and we hope and pray that in their merit, HaShem will listen to our prayers.
