But not all was well in the Jewish camp. Some of Bnei Yisrael were still worried.
“How do we know that these Egyptian warriors died?” the frightened Jews said. “Yes! Who knows?! Maybe they’re still alive and simply walked off safely somewhere else along the shore”!
“Oh no! Now, what are we going to do now?!”
Suddenly, HaShem sent a gigantic wind that sucked up the corpses of the warriors and spit them out on shore, for all Bnei Yisrael to see.
“Look! The Egyptian warriors. Dead like a doorknob.” “Now we have nothing to fear!”
“And look at all the treasures near them! We’ve never seen so much wealth in our entire lives!” “Yes, it’s even more wealth than we took going out of Egypt.”
Indeed, these riches came from the royal treasure houses of Paraoh, who was anxious to sign up his warriors for the grand chase. Bnei Yisrael took these treasures, which they used later for the holy Mishkan in the desert.
At this point there was no longer a doubt. The grateful Jews witnessed the awesome might of HaShem, and exclaimed with joy, “We truly believe in HaShem!”
“YES! Moshe is HaShem’s true messenger!”
